CHICAGO – State Rep. Lindsey LaPointe, D-Chicago, is promoting the Arts for Illinois relief fund to provide financial support for Illinois artists during the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.

“Due to the financial devastation of this unprecedented health crisis, many artists have lost their sources of income,” said LaPointe. “That is why I want to promote our state’s official financial relief program to support our community’s artists during this difficult time.”

The City of Chicago and the State of Illinois have collaborated to support the arts community during the COVID-19 crisis. Arts for Illinois features artists from across the state who have made their work available for the public’s enjoyment while at home. The platform also includes the Arts For Illinois Relief fund to provide immediate relief directly the individual artists who are unable to work during the temporary shut-down. “Without question, the arts matter and we need to work together to provide Illinois artists with the financial assistance and support they always deserved,” LaPointe said. “As you continue to create, draw, write or compose, know that we will have your back and help you get through this crisis together.”
