BLOOMINGDALE, Ill. – State Rep. Diane Pappas, D-Itasca, is promoting the Alzheimer’s Association resources to support residents with Alzheimer’s or dementia and their families during the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.

“As a result of this pandemic, some residents with Alzheimer’s or dementia may be in an assisted living environment where visitation is not allowed,” said Pappas. “I encourage residents to use these resources to help them stay connected with loved ones during this difficult time.”

Pappas is promoting resources through the Alzheimer’s Association to help residents with Alzheimer’s or dementia during COVID-19. If you or someone you know is in need of assistance, residents can contact the Alzheimer’s Association’s Helpline at 1-800-272-3900 or visit their official website at www.alz.org.

“These services can provide information, guidance and support for senior citizens and their families,” Pappas said. “During this unprecedented health crisis, no one should be forced to face Alzheimer’s or dementia alone.”

Residents can stay informed on developments with the COVID-19 pandemic by reviewing the State of Illinois website at www.coronavirus.illinois.gov. Pappas encourages residents who need help navigating services to contact her district office at 224-520-8838 or RepDPappas@gmail.com.
