DES PLAINES, Ill. – Amidst the COVID-19 public health crisis, state Rep. Marty Moylan, D-Des Plaines, is applauding the tremendous work of health care workers and identifying some key positive developments with the response efforts at Advocate Health Care.
“Our selfless and dedicated health care workers are saving lives and deserve the sincere gratitude of every resident across Illinois,” Moylan said. “Though the COVID-19 crisis has brought grief to too many families, our local medical workers continue to go above and beyond to keep as many of us as healthy as possible.”
As of this week, Advocate Health Care has discharged over 1,500 local patients who are on track to a full recovery. Additionally, Advocate continues to work with several local manufacturers to secure personal protective equipment during the nationwide shortage, while preparing hospital operations for any future influx of patients. Any residents wishing to volunteer or donate supplies can find information on how to do so at https://advocategiving.org/covid-19/.
Advocate has also launched a symptom checker website from their COVID-19 resource center. Residents concerned about any symptoms they may be experiencing are encouraged to take advantage of this resource that can be found at https://www.advocateaurorahealth.org/coronavirus-disease-2019.
“It is important during this crisis to remain hopeful and remember that we will get through this,” Moylan said. “Thanks to the protective measures being taken and all of our dedicated health care workers, we are on the way toward the end of this crisis, but only if we continue to adhere to the precautionary measures in place.”
