HILLSIDE, Ill. – State Rep. Emanuel “Chris” Welch, D-Hillside, is inviting residents to join a parade of cars that will drive past and beep their horns in support of construction workers who have been working around the clock to reopen Westlake Hospital and bring a vital COVID-19 treatment center to our community.
The car parade will meet at the 3:45 p.m. on Friday, April 17 at the Westlake Emergency Area of Westlake Hospital located at 1225 W Lake St. in Melrose Park. Attendees are encouraged to stay in their cars during the demonstration and to maintain safe social distancing practices.
“I am so grateful for the round the clock work that the Army Corps of Engineers and local construction workers have put in to reopen Westlake,” Welch said. “I encourage residents who have some free time tomorrow to join our car parade and show support for the folks working to reopen Westlake as well as all health care workers, first responders, and essential personnel working during this time of crisis.”
