ROUND LAKE BEACH, Ill. – With community needs skyrocketing during the COVID-19 outbreak, state Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, is encouraging healthy residents to look into ways they can help give back to those in need.
“To get through this pandemic, we are going to have to rely on each other more than ever,” said Yingling. “There are so many ways to help others, whether it is giving blood or donating food. I would encourage everyone to take a moment and see what they can do to help our community during this crisis.”
Those who are looking to volunteer have many opportunities, including in-person and virtually. Some of the opportunities include donating blood, donating and delivering food, and telephone reassurance programs for seniors. Those interested in learning more about volunteer opportunities should visit the Serve Illinois website at https://www2.illinois.gov/sites/serve/Pages/default.aspx.
During his time in the General Assembly, Yingling has emphasized giving back to the community. He regularly holds events aimed at helping residents, including Utility Bill Clinics, Job Fairs, and informational seminars. Yingling also held a Food and Clothes Drive last holiday season to help give back to families in need.
“To protect the most vulnerable among us, we need to come together and do our part in keeping our community safe,” said Yingling. “In trying times like these, we need to find every opportunity we can to help support others.”
