BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. – State Rep. Daniel Didech, D-Buffalo Grove, is promoting Serve Illinois’ donation drive for personal protective equipment (PPE) for first responders and health care workers during the COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease) outbreak.
“To help support the fight against the COVID-19 outbreak, I am urging residents and businesses to donate personal protective equipment to our first responders and medical professionals, who are in dire need of supplies,” said Didech. “Our first responders and health care workers have our back during a crisis, and now more than ever, we need to have theirs.”
The state is currently seeking unopened medical supplies, including face shields, gowns, masks, and gloves. All items donated should be in the manufacturers’ original packaging and unopened. Residents wishing to make a donation of equipment should contact Serve Illinois at ppe.donations@illinois.gov or visit their official website at www.Serve.Illinois.gov.
Residents can also stay informed on developments with the COVID-19 pandemic by reviewing information provided on the State of Illinois’ exclusive website, coronavirus.illinois.gov. Residents who want to share their thoughts or require assistance on this matter or any other issue in the community can reach Didech at 847-478-9909 or by email at Info@repdidech.com.
“Although the stakes could not be higher, I know this state is strong enough to weather through this health crisis,” Didech said. “To get to the other side of this outbreak, we must stand together and do everything we can to support our first responders and health care workers on the front lines in the fight against COVID-19.”
