AURORA, Ill. – To ensure the health and safety of district office employees and local residents during the COVID-19 outbreak, state Rep. Barbara Hernandez, D-Aurora, has closed her district office until further notice, but will still be accessible to assist with constituent concerns.

“My district office will remain closed until further notice to protect the health and well-being of my staff and the community as a whole,” said Hernandez. “However, my staff and I will be working remotely and will be available for constituents if they need to reach us.”

Hernandez is encouraging residents to reach out to her at RepBarbaraHernandez@gmail.com. While the district office remains closed, Hernandez and staff are available to assist with constituent concerns and state-related issues. If you think you may have been exposed to COVID-19 or need more information about the outbreak, Hernandez is encouraging residents to directly contact Illinois Department of Public Health by calling their 24-hour hotline at 800-889-3931 or by email at dph.sick@illinois.gov.

“We must ensure that our entire community is working hard to stop the spread of COVID-19, and the best way to do that is by practicing social distancing and following additional recommendations from the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,” said Hernandez. “I encourage local residents to stay home when possible and to call the COVID-19 hotline or visit coronavirus.illinois.gov for the latest information about the virus and preventative measures.”
