“As we continue to fight against COVID-19, it is crucial that we support our small business owners, who are going to financially suffer as a result of this health crisis,” said Buckner. “Because resources are limited and based on research, we need enough information to receive an appropriate response where it can do the most good and help our small businesses rebuild. I urge all local business owners to fill out the survey provided on the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity website.”
Business owners can visit the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity website or https://bit.ly/2WuEt7w to fill out a form detailing the impact COVID-19 has had on their operations. The information provided will be used as state and federal aid packages and orders are developed.
“We must act now to help local businesses brace for the long-term, monetary effects of this health crisis,” Buckner said. “There is no doubt that the economic costs of COVID-19 may stay with us well after this outbreak is contained. That is why it is critical that we do everything we can to support local business owners in our community.”
