CHICAGO – State Rep. Lindsey LaPointe, D-Chicago, is urging residents to help protect their health and the well-being of their neighbors by staying informed with accurate and up-to-date information on the COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease) pandemic provided on official websites for the State of Illinois and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“Above all else, we must all work together to help protect the public health and safety of our collective community,” said LaPointe. “I strongly urge residents to stay informed on news and precautionary measures by regularly referring to the State of Illinois and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention websites. There is a lot of misinformation being shared during this challenging time and it’s important that we refer to the guidelines and recommendations of medical experts and health care professional for the most accurate information. ”

Residents can stay informed on developments with the COVID-19 pandemic by reviewing information provided on the State of Illinois’ exclusive website, coronavirus.illinois.gov, as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s website, coronavirus.gov.

“If local residents want to share their thoughts or concerns on the coronavirus pandemic or any other issue facing the community, I can still be reached at my district office at 773-647-1174 or my email address at replapointe@gmail.com,” said LaPointe. “We must all work together to flatten the curve and protect the most vulnerable members of our community and one way to do that is by keeping our neighbors well informed. I encourage everyone to listen to the guidelines set by medical experts during this time to help protect public health and well-being.”

LaPointe represents the 19th District, which covers portions of Chicago’s Big Oaks, Dunning, Gladstone Park, Jefferson Park, Portage Park, Union Ridge and West Portage Park neighborhoods, and River Grove, Elmwood Park, Norridge and Harwood Heights.
