LaPointe Boosts Social Distancing, Cancels Spring Events Through April

CHICAGO – Taking proactive measures to protect the public health and safety of the community, state Rep. Lindsey LaPointe, D-Chicago, is supporting social distancing efforts by canceling her community events through April, including her Veteran’s Resource Event on March 30 as well as her Senior Fair event on April 17. To help further combat the spread of COVID-19, LaPointe has also closed her district office to the public, but will continue to be reached at 773-647-1174 or her email address at replapointe@gmail.com.

“In order to combat the COVID-19 pandemic and safeguard the public health of our community, we must all do our part to support social distancing efforts,” said LaPointe. “That is why I am taking proactive measures by closing my district office to the public and canceling all spring events from now until April. In order to flatten the curve and support our community members working hard in the medical field, we must all work together to control the spread of COVID-19.”

LaPointe urges community members to stay informed on developments regarding the COVID-19 pandemic with accurate and up-to-date information provided on the Illinois Department of Public Health’s website, www.dph.illinois.gov. LaPointe intends to reschedule district events at a date to be determined later in accordance with best practices advised by healthcare authorities.

LaPointe represents the 19th District, which covers portions of Chicago’s Big Oaks, Dunning, Gladstone Park, Jefferson Park, Portage Park, Union Ridge and West Portage Park neighborhoods, and River Grove, Elmwood Park, Norridge and Harwood Heights.
