CHICAGO – Taking proactive measures to protect the public health and safety of the community, state Rep. Kam Buckner, D-Chicago, is supporting social distancing efforts by canceling his community events through early April. To help combat the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease), Buckner has also closed his district office to the public, but will continue to be reached at 773-924-1775 and his email address at Buckner@Illinois26.com.
“In order to beat the coronavirus pandemic and protect the public health of our community, we must all do our part to support social distancing efforts,” said Buckner. “That is why I am taking proactive measures by closing my district office to the public and canceling all my spring events through early April. In order to flatten the curve and support our community members working hard in the medical field, we must all work together to control the spread of the coronavirus.”
Residents can stay informed on developments with the COVID-19 pandemic by reviewing information provided on the State of Illinois’ exclusive website, http://coronavirus.illinois.gov, as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s website, http://coronavirus.gov.

Buckner’s 26th District contains all or parts of Bronzeville, Gold Coast, Grand Boulevard, Greater Grand Crossing, Hyde Park, Kenwood, Oakland, South Chicago, South Loop, South Shore, Streeterville and Woodlawn.
