SPRINGFIELD – State Rep. Lance Yednock, D-Ottawa, recently met in Springfield with Streator Township High School students and members of the Future Farmers of America. Led by agricultural educator & FFA Advisor Riley Hintzsche, Yednock spoke with the students about agricultural issues that are important to the state of Illinois and specifically to the Illinois Valley.
“Agriculture is the largest industry in our state and a large part of the Illinois Valley economy,” said Yednock. “It was a pleasure to meet so many high school students who are tomorrow’s leaders in agriculture and our community as a whole,” said Yednock. “It’s encouraging to see so many local students from the Illinois Valley who are taking an active role in talking to legislators during their advocacy day. I pledge to continue to stand up for adequate funding to programs like FFA because these groups teach leadership and development skills through agricultural education.”
