“Our veterans have given so much to ensure we’re able to continue living freely and safely in this country. It’s incumbent on us to always give our veterans the respect, honor and resources they deserve,” Mason said. “The measures I’ve introduced this session would guarantee more veterans have reliable access to important benefits, including job training programs, quality mental health care and loans to start new business ventures.”
Mason spoke about her House Bills 4903, 4944 and 5610. Mason was joined at the event by fellow legislator state Sen. Melinda Bush, who reaffirmed her strong commitment to veterans and to passing Mason’s legislation in the Senate. Also attending the event were local veterans as well as representatives from the Lake County Veterans Assistance Commission, Operation Fetch, Road Home, Freedom Farm for Vets and the U.S. Army Reserve. Mission BBQ was founded on Sept. 11, 2011 and has donated more than ten million dollars to veterans’ organizations nationally.
