Reitz Welcomes Rev. Frederick Evans to State Capitol to Deliver House Invocation

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. –State Rep. Nathan Reitz, D-Steeleville, welcomed Rev. Frederick Evans to Springfield to deliver the invocation to the Illinois House of Representatives before session on Tuesday.

“The decisions lawmakers make in the state Capitol are incredibly important and impact families across Illinois,” said Reitz. “Starting the session day with a prayer gives legislators time to reflect and remember the importance of our duty to serve the people of Illinois to the best of our ability. I want to thank Rev. Evans for joining me in Springfield and sharing his wise words with lawmakers.”

Evans is the Reverend of Flat Creek Missionary Baptist Church (FCMBC) in East Carondelet, which has been in the region since 1809.
