SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Yehiel “Mark” Kalish, D-Chicago, issued the following statement after Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s Budget address:
“My priority is passing a budget that puts working families first and funds vital programs like breast cancer screenings and MAP grants for students like Azriel, who is in my district and the Governor mentioned in his speech; pays down old bills; gives our schools the resources they need and delivers property tax relief.
“While our state faces real challenges, I am confident that we can build on the progress that we made with last year’s bipartisan, balanced budget. I will continue to work with Governor Pritzker and my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to pass a budget that moves Illinois forward and puts middle-class families first.”
