LOMBARD, Ill. – State Rep. Terra Costa Howard, D-Glen Ellyn, issued the following statement after Gov. JB Pritzker’s Budget address to a joint session of the General Assembly:
“I remain focused and ready to work on behalf of DuPage County families for a responsible budget that ensures vital tax relief for the middle class, stronger state support for our local schools, and funding for vital community services such as Meals on Wheels and our local domestic violence programs. A responsible budget also must include concrete efforts to pay down the state’s backlog of old bills and put Illinois on a more stable fiscal path moving forward. None of these goals should be partisan efforts, and I am committed to working with both Democrats and Republicans to make the tough fiscal decisions necessary to building a stronger Illinois.”
