“As we get older and our lives get busier it can be difficult to make new friends and form new relationships,” said Hurley. “The ice cream social is a great opportunity for older adults in our community to come together to meet and spend time with new friends and enjoy a delicious ice cream sundae.”
Local residents age 65 and older are invited to join Hurley for her Valentine’s Day ice cream social on Friday, Feb. 14 at 1:00 p.m. at 115 Bourbon Street, located at 3359 W 115th St. in Merrionette Park. For a $5 admission fee, seniors will get an ice cream sundae, popcorn, soft drinks and coffee, as well as a viewing of the 1959 film “Pillow Talk.”
“Taking care of yourself includes making your social life a priority and staying young by meeting new people,” continued Hurley. “I encourage local seniors to join me for my Valentine’s Day ice cream social to enjoy the company of friends both new and old.”
