CHICAGO – State Rep. Fran Hurley, D-Chicago, is partnering with Sen. Bill Cunningham, D-Chicago, to offer job application help for opportunities with the 2020 Census.
“Ensuring that every Illinoisan is counted is incredibly important, because our representation in the census determines our representation in Congress, and determines the amount of federal dollars our state gets to fund projects our families care about,” said Hurley. “For every resident that goes uncounted our community misses out on important funding for schools, hospitals, roads and public safety, so enumerators and other census workers have a huge responsibility.”
Jobseekers are encouraged to join Rep. Hurley and Sen. Cunningham to learn more about job opportunities with the 2020 Census Bureau. Representatives from the U.S. Census Bureau will be available on Saturday, Feb. 8 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Hurley’s district office, located at 10402 S. Western Ave. in Chicago. They will be available to answer questions and provide more information about working for the census, as well as to help residents fill out the job application.
“Joining the U.S. Census Bureau’s team offers a variety of benefits including great pay, flexible hours and paid training, plus the added bonus of knowing you are working to help our state and community,” continued Hurley. “I encourage jobseekers and other residents interested in getting more involved in our community to stop by office to learn more about jobs with the 2020 Census.”
