LIBERTYVILLE, Ill. – State Rep. Mary Edly-Allen, D-Libertyville, recently hosted a community coffee at Bagels by the Book in Libertyville.

“These community gatherings give me the opportunity to listen to the concerns of local residents on some of the most serious issues facing the state,”

Edly-Allen said. “Despite how different we may sometimes view a variety of issues, from tax relief to gun safety, if we are willing to listen to each other and have an honest, respectful conversation, we almost always find that we have much more in common than we think. It’s this kind of civil dialog is not only necessary it is essential. We need to put divisive politics and rhetoric aside as we continue to move our state forward on behalf of all Illinois residents.”

Edly-Allen hosts “Mary on the Matters” listening sessions at least once per month in coffee shops, diners and restaurants throughout the 51st District.
