SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Aaron Ortiz, D-Chicago, released the following statement in response to Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s State of the State Address:
“For too long, our community has suffered the consequences of politicians putting their interests before the well-being of our families. I came to Springfield committed to changing the status quo, which is why over the past year I supported measures to raise wages, reinvest in education at all levels, make health care more affordable and protect immigrant families from Donald Trump’s bigotry.
“In order to continue building a stronger Illinois for working families, we must build on this progress and restore integrity to public office by closing loopholes that have allowed bad actors to use their offices for personal gain. Our community has had enough.”
