SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Yehiel “Mark” Kalish, D-Chicago, issued the following statement after Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s State of the State address:
“We made real progress on building a brighter future for working families in Illinois last year by increasing access to affordable health care, passing a capital bill that creates jobs and spurs economic growth, and passing a balanced budget that gives our neighborhood schools the resources they need.”
“To continue to move Illinois forward we need to provide real property tax relief to the middle class, reform our state’s ethics laws and expand economic opportunity for working families by investing in high-wage job training programs.
“Our state faces real challenges, and I pledge to continue my efforts to build an Illinois that puts working families first. I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle and the governor to create a better future for Illinois.”
