Carroll Responds to Gov. Pritzker’s State of the State Address

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Jonathan Carroll, D-Northbrook, released the following statement after Gov. J.B. Pritzker delivered his State of the State address to a joint session of the General Assembly:

“The governor continues to demonstrate his ability to lead effectively on behalf of the people of our state because he backs his words with action. I am encouraged by the progress we have achieved in the last year to build a stronger Illinois. Together, we worked in good faith to lower the cost of lifesaving drugs, increased funding for local schools, and ushered in a comprehensive infrastructure development program that is creating thousands of high-wage jobs.

“Although there is more work to be done as we continue moving the state back on track, today Gov. Pritzker laid the groundwork on action that needs to be taken to continue building stronger, safer and more economically robust communities across the state. I look forward to working collaboratively with the governor and my colleagues on both sides of the aisle as we continue to pursue the diverse interests of the communities we represent.”
