LOMBARD – State Rep. Terra Costa Howard, D-Glen Ellyn, joined village officials in thanking the 200-plus local residents who donated blood in one day during the Village of Lombard’s recent blood drive benefiting the Versiti Blood Center of Illinois.
“January is National Blood Donor Month, and the people of Lombard showed their support with this incredible turnout,” said Costa Howard. “More than 200 people in our community answered the call and stepped up to help people who need lifesaving blood – mothers giving birth, children fighting cancer, surgical patients, and disaster survivors. The people who donated during this blood drive are helping to save hundreds of lives. I’m so proud of our constituents, and I encourage everyone to consider taking part in our next blood drive this spring.”
The Village of Lombard Blood Drive is an annual event coordinated with the Versiti Blood Center of Illinois (formerly Heartland Blood Center).
