CHICAGO – Working to remove stigma towards mental health, state Rep. Lindsey LaPointe, D-Chicago, is gearing up to co-lead with state Sen. Rob Martwick, D-Chicago, an upcoming Mental Health 101 Seminar with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) on Tuesday, Jan. 21, from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m., and Wednesday, Jan. 22, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., at Wilbur Wright College Auditorium located at 4300 N. Narragansett Ave.

“Trying to grapple with a serious mental health issue can be a very isolating and overwhelming experience,” LaPointe said. “We wanted to ensure we could connect our community members to local resources and services. Ultimately, I wanted to organize this event to provide a safe, open environment in which our community could come together to openly discuss issues related to mental health.”

This event is free and open to the public. Parking will be made available and refreshments will be provided. For more information, LaPointe can be reached through her office number at (773)-647-1174 or her email address at replapointe@gmail.com.
