CHICAGO – To help prepare students and their families as they apply and navigate the financial aid process, state Rep. Curtis J. Tarver II, D-Chicago is partnering with state Rep. Kam Bucker, D-Chicago, and ISACorps to host a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Workshop on Tuesday, Jan. 21.
“Nearly all local students and their families will complete a FAFSA application as they look at opportunities for higher education,” said Tarver. “The financial aid process can be difficult for anyone struggling to figure out how they are going to pay for college. This workshop will help students and those completing these important forms ensure that the information is accurate and completed correctly, which can help reduce the stress families may face.”
The FAFSA Workshop will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 6:00 p.m. at the Walter H. Dyett High School for the Arts, located at 555 E. 51st St in Chicago. There event is completely free and open to all students and the public. Students and families can complete and submit a FAFSA during the workshop with the assistance of FAFSA experts from ISACorps.
“Workshops like these provide a hands-on experience in completing some of the most important steps for a student when they decide to pursue a higher education,” said Tarver. “Whether it’s attending college or a vocational school, I want to make sure that all students have access to the resources and aid they need while we continue to look at more ways to make education affordable and accessible for every student in Illinois.”
