CHICAGO – Continuing to advocate for equitable access to higher education, state Rep. Kam Buckner, D-Chicago, is co-hosting a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Workshop with state Rep. Curtis Tarver, D-Chicago. The workshop, facilitated through ISACorps, will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 21 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Dyett Walter H. Dyett High School for the Arts, located at 555 E. 51st St.

“Financial aid can be an incredibly valuable tool for qualifying students to help them go to college and succeed in a competitive job market,” Buckner said. “In order to build a stronger Illinois, we must work to ensure that high school students, no matter where they come from, can access the resources they need to obtain a college degree.”

Buckner’s event will address a variety of topics and issues regarding free application for federal student aid. Guests who attend will learn more about the FAFSA process and how to fill out the necessary paperwork. FAFSA consultants will be available to provide information on financing college and reviewing award letters.
