BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. – State Rep. Dan Didech, D-Buffalo Grove, recently met with the Stevenson High School Board of Education to present them with a resolution recognizing them for their status as a National Blue Ribbon school for the fifth time.

“It was an honor to return to my high school as state representative to recognize them for their achievement,” Didech said. “Stevenson High School is the first school in Illinois and the sixth in the country to earn this distinction five times. We are all proud Patriots!”

The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. Every year the U. S. Department of Education seeks out and celebrates great American schools, schools demonstrating that all students can achieve to high levels. The National Blue Ribbon School award embodies the hard work of a community’s student body, educators, support staff and other professionals, as well as its families.
