ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. – With the help of state Rep. Mark Walker’s, D-Arlington Heights, office, two district residents, Phyllis and Raymond Green, recently reclaimed over $80,000 through the Illinois Treasurer’s ICash program.

“I’m thrilled we were able to help Phyllis and Raymond connect with the ICash program and reclaim their money,” Walker said. “In 2019, almost $3.5 million in assets in my district alone were claimed by local residents.”

The Treasurer’s ICash program was founded in the early 1960s as a consumer protection initiative and helps connect state residents to millions of dollars of their unclaimed assets each year. The state currently has $2.9 billion in cash, plus contents from Illinois bank safe deposit boxes. Most assets are transferred to the state after they have been inactive for at least three years.

“I encourage everyone to see if they have unclaimed funds held by the state,” Walker said. “I’m proud my office is helping residents like the Greens connect with their unclaimed property and money. To find out if you have unclaimed assets, you can visit the ICash website at icash.illinoistreasurer.gov or contact my office and we can assist you through the process.”

For more information or to receive help with ICash, Walker’s office can be reached at 847-749-1137 or by email at Contact@StateRepWalker53.com.
