Stuart Invites Community to Send in Legislative Ideas

COLLINSVILLE, Ill. –State Rep. Katie Stuart, D-Edwardsville, is inviting constituents to help shape her upcoming legislative agenda by sharing their thoughts and ideas for new laws with her office.

“My primary focus is making sure that the most pressing issues and needs in my district are getting discussed at the state level,” said Stuart. “A lot of important legislation started from an experience or an idea from a resident who decided to speak up.”

Stuart is encouraging constituents to share thoughts and ideas about new legislation for 2020. Residents can contact Rep. Stuart’s district office at 618-365-6650 or email at repkatiestuart@gmail.com no later than Jan. 22 with ideas about the new legislation.

“The importance of local governance centers on the involvement of individuals and this is a wonderful opportunity for individuals to be involved in the legislative process that can sometimes feel distant,” continued Stuart. “I encourage anyone with ideas for legislation to contact my office so we can continue building a stronger Illinois together.”
