CHICAGO – As a way to engage local residents in the legislative process, state Rep. Lindsey LaPointe, D-Chicago, is encouraging constituents to contact her office with ideas for new bills to be considered in Illinois.

“As I head back to Springfield soon for the upcoming legislative session, I want to bring the ideas and concerns of local constituents with me,” LaPointe said. “It is important to me that our community plays a role in the legislative process and that everyone has an opportunity to have their voice heard.”

LaPointe is encouraging constituents to share their legislative ideas for her to take under consideration when drafting new laws for the upcoming year. New bill ideas can be submitted to LaPointe’s office by calling 773-647-1174 or emailing RepLaPointe@gmail.com.

“The most effective way for me to represent the needs and concerns of our district is to hear directly from the individuals that I serve,” LaPointe said. “I’m committed to being an open and accessible representative for our community, and I look forward to hearing from constituents about their legislative ideas to address the issues facing our state.”

LaPointe represents the 19th District, which covers portions of Chicago’s Big Oaks, Dunning, Gladstone Park, Jefferson Park, Portage Park, Union Ridge and West Portage Park neighborhoods, and River Grove, Elmwood Park, Norridge and Harwood Heights.
