LOMBARD – State Rep. Terra Costa Howard, D-Glen Ellyn, joined in an annual Lombard tradition this year by attending and donating to the Lombard Fire Department’s Toy Parade.
“It always warms my heart to see the emergency vehicles driving down Main Street, picking up toys and baby gifts from residents along the way” said Costa Howard. “I think the Toy Parade teaches the children of our community valuable lessons about generosity and about the great, unselfish work of our first responders. It’s wonderful that the Lombard Fire Department has maintained this great tradition for two decades.”
The Lombard Fire Department’s toy drive collects baby supplies and unwrapped gifts for children up to 14 years old. All donations directly benefit the Lombard and Villa Park Food Pantry, the Outreach House, and the Teen Parent Connection.
