SOUTH HOLLAND, Ill. – Encouraging public participation in the legislative process, state Rep. Thaddeus Jones, D-Calumet City, is offering local residents an opportunity to make their voices heard by welcoming input and feedback on proposing bill ideas.
“The duties of public service are oftentimes best informed by input and engagement from everyday citizens,” Jones said. “Before returning to Springfield in January, I want to encourage more local participation in the legislative process. A great way to do this is by giving residents an opportunity to contact my office to share their ideas on how we can better serve our community.”
Residents are encouraged to contact Rep. Jones’ constituent services at 708-596-7053, or email repjones.jones@gmail.com to offer input on legislative ideas that could be heard before the House. The 101st General Assembly is scheduled to reconvene on Jan. 28, and Jones is asking for residents to submit their ideas before Jan. 10.
“While this spring was marked with many notable legislative victories, there is much more to be done to continue moving our community forward,” Jones said. “It is my priority to serve as a strong voice for the south suburbs, and welcoming a dialogue about how we do business in Springfield is something I plan to continue.”
