GURNEE, Ill. – In an effort to remain open and accessible to all residents, state Rep. Joyce Mason, D-Gurnee, hosted a Holiday Open House on Saturday, Dec. 7 at her full-time Gurnee constituent services office.

“With the spring legislative session just around the corner, it’s important to me that I understand what our community needs and hear from people face-to-face to learn how I can serve them best at the Capitol,” Mason said. “These events are so valuable to me because they allow me to build personal ties to the people of this community. I was thrilled to be able to chat with so many attendees, and strengthen my commitment to Illinois while celebrating the holidays with my neighbors.”

Mason is a full-time legislator who uses her time away from the Capitol to proactively seek community feedback and to host events offering free services to residents, such as secure document disposals and assistance with property tax appeals.
