CHICAGO – In an effort to remain open and accessible to the community, state Rep. Kam Buckner, D-Chicago, is inviting residents to join him for a Holiday Open House on Tuesday, Dec. 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at his district office, located at 449 East 35th St, in Chicago.
“The holiday season can be a busy time for everyone, but it’s important to me that I stay connected to serving the community,” Buckner said. “With the legislative session coming up quickly, I want to ensure that the legislative agenda I take to Springfield best fits the needs of our community.”
Residents will be able to speak with Buckner one-on-one in fifteen minute intervals. Buckner is also providing a holiday cookie decorating station, hot chocolate and coffee, and pastries free of charge.
Buckner previously hosted multiple events to assess the needs of his community and provide services at no cost to residents. Recently, Buckner has presented several town hall events focused on helping residents achieve equity through learning about financial literacy and fair housing protections.
“I am always happy to speak to residents face-to-face and learn how I can serve them best as their Representative,” Buckner said. “I highly encourage everyone able to come to my Holiday Open House and share your ideas, concerns and perspectives with me.”
Buckner represents the 26th District, which covers portions of Chicago’s Bronzeville, Gold Coast, Grand Boulevard, Greater Grand Crossing, Hyde Park, Kenwood, Oakland, South Chicago, South Loop, South Shore, Streeterville and Woodlawn.
