GURNEE, Ill. – Striving to stay open and accessible to all residents, state Rep. Joyce Mason, D-Gurnee, is hosting a Holiday Open House from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 7 at her district office at 36100 Brookside Drive Suite LL 60 in Gurnee.

“The holiday season is a busy time, but the spring legislative session is just around the corner, and it’s important to me that I stay connected to our community’s needs,” Mason said. “I want to ensure the legislative agenda I take to Springfield is always one that appropriately addresses the concerns of our residents.”

Mason is a full-time legislator who uses her time away from the Capitol to proactively seek community feedback and to host events offering free services to residents, such as secure document disposals and assistance with property tax appeals.

“Hosting this open house is just one of the ways I’m making myself and my office readily available to residents,” Mason said. “I also hold regular coffee hours throughout the district and maintain community advisory councils on a variety of issues. One of the best things about these events is they allow me to cultivate personal relationships with residents, which, in turn, allows me to have a better understanding of the needs of our community as a whole.”
