ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. – State Rep. Mark Walker, D-Arlington Heights, and state Sen. Ann Gillespie, D-Arlington Heights, are thanking district residents for attending their recent town hall in Mount Prospect, where the legislators updated attendees about recent events in Springfield and their work to fight rising property taxes.

“Despite the recent veto session only being two weeks long, we tackled a lot of important issues,” Walker said. “We wanted to be sure our residents are aware of our work on issues like capping skyrocketing insulin prices and ethics reform.

“We also discussed our work on the Property Tax Appeal Task Force,” Walker added. “Sen. Gillespie and I co-chaired important committees tackling TIFs and PTELL, tools the state has that, if reformed, could help lower property taxes. We’re eager for the final report of the Task Force to come out and are ready to tackle property taxes when we go back to Springfield in January.”

Residents who could not attend but would like to share their thoughts with Walker and Gillespie are encouraged to contact Walker’s office at 847-749-1137 or Gillespie’s office at 847-749-1880.
