ROUND LAKE BEACH, Ill. – Continuing his efforts to provide free and useful services to the community, state Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, partnered with the Citizen’s Utility Board (CUB) to present a Utility Bill Clinic on Monday, Dec. 2 at the Round Lake Park District in Round Lake.

“I am committed to providing real help to our community and making sure as many residents as possible have access to valuable information on how to keep their hard-earned paychecks in their pockets,” Yingling said. “I will continue to host Utility Bill Clinics and other similar events to provide as much help as possible to the community.”

At Yingling’s workshop, residents were able to bring copies of their latest phone, gas, and electric bills, and received consultations from CUB to identify hidden charges and unnecessary fees that could be driving their bills up. Yingling frequently hosts seminars and workshops to help residents in his community, including other Utility Bill Clinics and Property Tax Seminars, which aim to help residents learn if they are overpaying their property taxes and how to appeal them.

Yingling has also introduced legislation that would prohibit unregulated utility companies from misleading residents into buying unnecessary services by using logos of regulated utility companies.
