CHICAGO – Local community members will learn essential skills about financial management at state Rep. Curtis J. Tarver II’s Financial Literacy Town Hall on Thursday, Dec. 12 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Co:Lab 7100, located at 7100 S. South Shore Dr. in Chicago. Tarver is partnering with state Rep. Kam Buckner, D-Chicago, and the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation’s Division of Banking to educate residents about how to save and spend within the banking system.

“Learning how to manage your financial assets is an important skill that seems to become more and more complicated every year,” said Tarver. “Whether it is knowing how to open a bank account, pay off debt or plan for the future, knowing how to manage your income and assets is extremely important. While I work to find solutions to help individuals and communities thrive in Springfield, holding educational events like this is one important step that I can take now that will hopefully have a direct impact on how residents save for the future.”
