GRANITE CITY, Ill. – To ensure residents are saving on their utility bills, state Rep. Katie Stuart, D-Edwardsville, hosted a Utility Bill Clinic with the Citizens’ Utility Board (CUB) in Granite City.

“CUB is a wonderful organization that we have in the state, and they have helped many people in Illinois save on their electricity, phone and water bills,” said Stuart. “I will continue to connect residents with meaningful services that help give them more power over their pocketbook.”

Stuart’s seminar focused on educating consumers on the latest energy policies in Illinois and how to spot errors on personal utility bills. Staff members from CUB also told attendees about free programs designed to save energy while also saving money. Stuart frequently partners with CUB to ensure residents are aware of the ways they can cut down on energy costs throughout the year.

“I want to make sure that I am giving those in my district a chance to not only have their utility bills reviewed, but to also hear about how legislation can impact their energy choices,” continued Stuart. “Illinois residents have choices when it comes to their energy providers, and services like CUB gives resources and information to make the right choice.”
