HILLSIDE, Ill. – To help ensure that all area children have a joyful holiday season, state Rep. Emanuel “Chris” Welch, D-Hillside, is encouraging donations for a toy drive to benefit children who attend Bellwood School District 88.
“Between monthly bills, putting food on the table and other unexpected expenses, not every family can afford to purchase gifts,” Welch said. “This toy drive will help ensure that each and every family is able to experience a joyful holiday season.”
Welch is accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys from now until Dec. 16 at 3 p.m. Toys can be dropped off at his district office at 10055 W. Roosevelt Rd. in Westchester. Toys will be distributed to Bellwood School District 88 on Dec. 21.
“One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is seeing the joy on the faces of my children as they are opening their presents on Christmas morning,” Welch said. “Every child deserves to have the same cherished holiday memories.”
