AURORA, Ill. – To provide an update on recently passed legislation, state Rep. Barbara Hernandez, D-Aurora, is hosting a town hall meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 4 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Waubonsee Community College, located at 18 S. River St. in Aurora.

“Meeting with the residents face-to-face is the best way to hear their feedback and listen to their concerns,” said Hernandez. “With the fall veto session just wrapping up and the spring session just around the corner, I want to make sure community members are well-informed of the work being done in Springfield to create a better future for families in Illinois.”

Following the fall veto session, Hernandez will give attendees an update on new legislation, including measures to set the price cap for insulin to $100, provide real property tax relief and implement important ethics reforms. Attendees will also be encouraged to ask questions and share concerns regarding state and local issues.

“I am committed to building a stronger Illinois, and the first step to doing that is by listening to residents’ concerns and hearing their ideas for new legislation,” said Hernandez. “I hope to see folks come out and participate in this open discussion.”
