SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – State Rep. Michelle Mussman, D-Schaumburg, recently partnered with the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois to provide free health and kidney screenings for residents at the Schaumburg Township District Library.
“Expanding access to health care continues to be a priority of mine, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to partner with the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois to help provide preventative health screenings to local residents,” Mussman said. “The tests and education offered by the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois can help prevent serious health risks such as kidney disease and diabetes, and allow individuals to live a longer, healthier life.”
Mussman’s event offered free health screenings including urinalysis, blood glucose and body mass index (BMI). Health experts were available to discuss test results with attendees and provide information on disease prevention and healthy habits to help slow progression of chronic diseases.
