BERWYN, Ill. – State Rep. Elizabeth “Lisa” Hernandez, D-Cicero, is working with local leaders and community-based organizations to help DREAMers renew their Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status at a workshop on Saturday, Nov. 16 from 9 a.m. to noon at Unity Lutheran Church, located at 6720 31st St. in Berwyn.
“With all the uncertainty facing the DREAMers, it is critical that families are informed are able to renew their status and have any questions they may have answered,” Hernandez said. “I want to thank our local partners for working with me to ensure local families are able to renew their status so they can feel safe and welcomed in our community.”
Hernandez is working with local leaders like Congressman Garcia, and Family Focus to host a DACA Renewal Workshop, which will help local DREAMers are able to renew their Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status. Space is limited and free assistance will be provided to the first 40 people who register. Attendees should bring a copy of their most recent work permit, a valid photo ID, their last approval notice, a copy of previous DACA application, proof of current address and two passport-style photos.
