Yingling Hosts Workshop to Cut Residents’ Utility Bills

ROUND LAKE BEACH, Ill. – State Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, is partnering with the Citizens Utility Board (CUB) for a Utility Bill Clinic on Thursday, Nov. 7 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Grayslake Area Public Library, located at 100 Library Lane in Grayslake. At the workshop, residents can bring their latest phone, gas, and electric bills and receive a free one-on-one consultation with experts from CUB, who will identify hidden charges and unnecessary fees that can be eliminated from the utility bills.

“With winter and the need for more heating right around the corner, now is a great time to make sure you are being fairly charged on your utility bills,” said Yingling. “The last thing middle-class families need is being overcharged for basic utilities.”

Yingling regularly hosts seminars and workshops to help residents across his district. In addition to holding Utility Bill Clinics, Yingling has held I-Cash events, which help constituents see if they are owed money by the state, as well as various seminars giving tips to those looking for college financial aid, tips on how to find affordable healthcare, and ways for seniors to avoid scammers and fraudulent schemes. Yingling has also introduced legislation that would prohibit unregulated utility companies from misleading residents into buying unnecessary services by using logos of regulated utility companies.
