CHICAGO – State Rep. Justin Slaughter, D-Chicago, is inviting local community members to voice their opinions and receive critical legislative updates at a town hall meeting on Saturday, Nov. 9 from 10 a.m. to noon at his district office, located at 1234 W. 95th St. in Chicago.

“Providing an opportunity for residents to voice their concerns and have constructive conversations about building a stronger Illinois is critical to my role as their representative in Springfield,” said Slaughter. “Talking to constituents directly about recent legislation and hearing their feedback, concerns and opinions is the best way for me to legislate more effectively.”

Slaughter’s town hall will highlight important legislation passed during the 2019 legislative session and provide updates from last month’s veto session.. Slaughter will also invite representatives from state agencies and other local elected officials to talk about the important work they do. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and share feedback.

“It’s important for Illinois residents to be aware of legislation that may affect them and their families, so I encourage all members of our community to attend,” said Slaughter. “I look forward to meeting residents and discussing the ways that we can improve our communities together.”
