DES PLAINES, Ill. – In an effort to help vulnerable veterans in the community, state rep. Marty Moylan, D-Des Plaines, is publicizing a program from the Illinois State Dental Society (IDIS) to provide free dental care to veterans during the month of November.

“There are many veterans who are continually overlooked when it comes to full medical coverage,” said Moylan. “These are men and women who gave up their time and efforts to protect our country. The least we can do is work with the IDIS to provide common dental treatment.”

The IDIS’s November initiative, Illinois Dentists Salute, aims to serve veterans of the United States military who often struggle with poverty, disabilities and other illnesses with quality, free common dental care. Veterans who partake in the program are asked to provide a military ID at the scheduled appointment. “We need to treat our veterans with common respect and protect their well-being. The lack of dental hygiene can lead to other infections and illnesses throughout the entire body,” said Moylan. “I encourage any Illinois veterans who have concerns about critically-needed dental services or would like a common dental checkup, to please make an appointment through the IDIS and receive the needed dental care.”
