BATAVIA, Ill. – To help local seniors understand their benefits and coverage under Medicare, state Rep. Karina Villa, D-West Chicago, recently partnered with the Illinois Department on Aging to host a Medicare Seminar. Villa will also be hosting a Medicare Seminar in Spanish later this week.
“My commitment to building a stronger Illinois includes fighting for affordable health care, especially for our seniors, many of whom live on fixed incomes. Our seniors deserve affordable access to the health care they need, and should not have to choose between buying groceries and paying bills or filling their prescriptions,” said Villa. “I will continue working to build an Illinois that prioritizes the needs of seniors and middle-class families by addressing outrageous health care prices and reining in prescription drug costs.”
To continue providing opportunities for seniors to learn more about their Medicare coverage, Villa is hosting another Medicare Seminar on Thursday, Oct. 31 at 10 a.m. at the West Chicago Public Library, located at 118 W. Washington St. Local seniors and caregivers are invited to stop by as experts from AgeOptions will give a presentation in Spanish about different Medicare plans, new enrollment, important deadlines, and will answer questions about senior care.
