CHICAGO – In an effort to promote community health, 45th Ward Ald..Jim Gardiner and state Rep. Jaime Andrade, D-Chicago, are partnering to host a flu shot clinic and community healthcare expo at the Jefferson Park Fieldhouse, located at 4822 N. Long Ave., on Saturday, Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“With the weather rapidly getting colder, we want to make sure people are aware of all the health care resources available to keep themselves and their families healthy,” Andrade said. “Public health is a major focus for my office, and Alderperson Gardiner and I are happy to provide services like these that benefit the community.”
Services provided at the event include free flu shots courtesy of the Chicago Department of Public Health, along with free screenings for glucose, blood pressure, and cholesterol. Additionally, over 40 vendors from the community will have information available about the wide range of health care options available on Chicago’s Northwest side. All services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
“Whether you’re looking to get a flu shot and a health screening, or just get information on your health care options, I invite you to come and join us,” Andrade said. “This is one of the largest health care expos in the city, and I’m glad I can play a part in making it happen.”
