GURNEE, Ill. – During the General Assembly’s legislative recess, state Rep. Joyce Mason, D-Gurnee, is spending time seeking feedback from local residents by going door-to-door in neighborhoods throughout her district.

“By physically bringing my office to residents’ doorsteps, I’m able to talk with people who I may not have the opportunity to speak with otherwise,” said Mason. “Hearing feedback from residents is very important to me, and getting out into the community like this allows me to develop a better understanding of the issues that need to be addressed in our district.”

Mason is a full-time legislator, using her time away from Springfield to connect with residents by hosting coffee hours at locally-owned coffee shops, organizing free informational seminars and holding round table discussions on a variety of issues.
