EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – To remain accessible to constituents, state Rep. Katie Stuart, D-Edwardsville, will hold a “Coffee with Katie” on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 2 p.m. at Sacred Grounds, located at 233 N. Main Street in Edwardsville.

“I am happy to give constituents an opportunity to see me in their local coffee shop in a more informal setting,” Stuart said. “This is an event with no agenda, so constituents can discuss whatever topics that they want to go over with me.”

Stuart typically holds a “Coffee with Katie” event once a month in different areas of the 112th District.  This event is meant to give community members an opportunity to sit down with their state representative about the issues that matter to them most, while also supporting local businesses. This event is free and open to the public.

“At the last coffee event, I was able to talk about upcoming events and my bill proposing a $40,000 Minimum Salary for Teachers that has since been signed into law,” continued Stuart. “I host ‘Coffee with Katie’ so we can talk about topics that are important to individual constituents – whether it be current legislation, property taxes or any other topic.”
